The business school at Thunderbird School of Global Management offers these departments and concentrations: accounting, finance, general management, international business, and marketing. Its tuition is full-time: $70,000 total program (in-state); full-time: $70,000 total program (out-of-state); executive: $87,500 total program (in-state); and executive: $87,500 total program (out-of-state). At graduation, 41.5 percent of graduates of the full-time program are employed.


Located in Glendale, Arizona, the Thunderbird School of Global Management is named after Thunderbird Field, the historic World War II airbase on which it’s built.


Thunderbird, which operates in partnership with Arizona State University, offers several internationally focused graduate business degrees and certificates for professionals to choose from. The Master of Global Management degree program includes elements of a traditional MBA but is designed for students interested in becoming global leaders. Students are required to reach proficiency in a second language and complete a practicum outside of their country of residence. Course work in the program includes negotiations, marketing and financial decision-making, all taught with a global slant.
Professionals in need of flexibility can complete the Master of Global Management program online. Those with experience can complete the Executive MGM program, which is designed for midlevel and senior executives and consists mainly of weekend sessions in Arizona.


The Thunderbird School of Global Management also offers a master’s in global affairs and management. Students also have the option of completing short-term graduate certificates in global management, global affairs and global development.


Besides academics, the school is also involved in projects such as Thunderbird for Good, which helps men and women from emerging markets, such as Afghanistan and Indonesia, learn business skills.
Thunderbird graduates, often known as T-Birds, join more than 40,000 alumni and can take advantage of school events around the world, career workshops and travel opportunities. Thunderbird School of Global Management has graduated many successful alumni, such as Gordon Smith, consumer and community banking CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co.; Bob Dudley, group chief executive of BP; Niels Marquardt, a former U.S. ambassador; and Philip Reeker, U.S. consul general in Milan.
