Founded in 1946, Le Moyne is a Jesuit affiliated college in Syracuse, New York state. The college is named for missionary Simon Le Moyne. The city itself enjoys a high student population with Syracuse University based in the centre of the city and Cazenovia College nearby.

Le Moyne is located on a 160 acre campus, and the university teaches in a wide range of academic fields. These courses are held within the College of Arts and Sciences, and the schools of Business and Professional Studies. There is also a school of continuing education at Le Moyne for graduate and adult study.

Le Moyne is home to numerous excellent facilities. The Coyne Centre for the Performing Arts contains a black box theatre, dance studio, and a carpenter’s shop. The Marren Studio upstairs is used for rehearsals and small performances.

The renovation of the Le Moyne’s Science Centre from 2008 was the biggest construction project in its history, and after consultation with students it was agreed that that the building should strive to be at the forefront of sustainability. Completed in 2011, the facility now contains 25,000 square feet of classrooms and laboratories, and a solar powered air heating system.

Alumni of Le Moyne include congresswoman Ann Buerkle, comedian Kate Clinton, the first participant of Indian descent to win Miss America, Nina Davuluri, and editor of Marvel Comics, Tom DeFalco.

A lasting tradition at Le Moyne is Dolphy Day, an occasion to play music and enjoy spring weather, and excitement for the event can build across campus as the exact date is not revealed to students until the last possible moment.
